Arctic Archaeology\u201d 20.-22.10.2021, smac, Chemnitz und online<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>-english below-<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr Herbst 2023 plant das <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smac.sachsen.de\/fortbildungen-Info_Arktische_Archaeologie_Tagung.html\">Staatliche Museum f\u00fcr Arch\u00e4ologie Chemnitz (smac) z<\/a>usammen mit der Eurasien-Abteilung des Deutschen Arch\u00e4ologischen Instituts eine gro\u00dfe Sonderausstellung zur Arktischen Arch\u00e4ologie. Die Ausstellung \u201eAuf d\u00fcnnem Eis\u201c m\u00f6chte die Vielfalt der Kulturen, die Widerstandsf\u00e4higkeit und den Einfallsreichtum der arktischen V\u00f6lker zeigen und gleichzeitig auf die Gef\u00e4hrdung dieses einzigartigen Kulturraums hinweisen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vom 20. bis 22. Oktober 2021 soll in diesem Rahmen eine internationale Tagung im Hybridformat \u2013 in Chemnitz und online \u2013 stattfinden. Sie dient nicht nur der inhaltlichen Vorbereitung der Ausstellung, sondern wird erstmals in Deutschland den aktuellen Stand der arch\u00e4ologischen Forschung in der Arktis pr\u00e4sentieren.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Folgende Vortragssessions sind geplant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1)&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Mythos Polarkreis: Expeditionen ins Eis, Kolonialisierung, Missionierung<br>2)&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Erforschung des Naturraums, des Klimas und seiner Ver\u00e4nderungen<br>3a)&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Kulturgeschichtlicher Abriss: Kulturen im Eis&nbsp;<br>3b) &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Arktisches Kulturerbe-Management<br>4)&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Aktuelle arch\u00e4ologische Ausgrabungen der letzten 15 Jahre<br>5) &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Die Arktis in Museumssammlungen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Konferenzsprache ist Englisch, mit Simultan\u00fcbersetzung ins Russische. Die Veranstaltung wird auch in Form einer Videokonferenz mit der Software &#8222;Zoom&#8220; durchgef\u00fchrt. Arctic Archaeology&#8220; 20.-22.10.2021, smac, Chemnitz and online<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In cooperation with Eurasia Department of the German Archaeological Institute, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smac.sachsen.de\/fortbildungen-Info_Arktische_Archaeologie_Tagung.html\">State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz (smac) <\/a>is planning a special exhibition on Arctic Archaeology due to open in autumn 2023. The exhibition \u201eOn Thin Ice\u201d (working title) aims to represent the cultural diversity, resilience and resourcefulness of Arctic peoples and to illustrate the unique cultural heritage threatened by climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparation of the exhibition, an international conference on this topic will be held in October 2021 (20th to 22nd). The conference aims to portray the current state of research in the circumarctic region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following sessions are scheduled to take place at the conference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Session 1: The Myth of the Arctic Circle: Expeditions into the Ice, Colonization and Missionary Work<br>Session 2: Exploring the Natural Environment, the Climate and its Changes<br>Session 3a: Outline of Cultural History: Cultures in the Ice<br>Session 3b: Arctic Culture Heritage Management<br>Session 4: Current Archaeological Excavations<br>Session 5: The Arctic in Museum Collections<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The working language of the conference is English, with simultaneous translation into Russian. The event will also be conducted as a video conference using the software \u201cZoom\u201d.
