We continue our “Photo of the Month” series with a copy of a plan. We owe this colorful drawing, which delicately gives all the details of Urfa’s Lidar Village, to the interest shown by architectural history expert Werner Schnuchel from Karlsruhe Institute for Technology to the local architecture of Anatolia. While working in the archaeological excavations there, Schnuchel has documented this village as well, which is now under the waters of the Atat\u00fcrk dam. His very detailed hand drawings show even door numbers. For instance, the legend in the left corner of the photo indicates every detail of the village from chicken coops to fountains. We share the drawing with respect to Werner Schnuchels work as a good proof that ethnoarchaeological studies are as important as excavations.<\/div><\/div>
