With our Series of the Monthly Photo, we would like to draw your attention to a book entitled Istanbuler Alltag im 19. Jahrhundert <\/em>created by Renate Schiele and Wolfgang M\u00fcller-Wiener. This publications includes some 100 photographs, selected from our own archives and with added texts, showing scenes of daily life in the Ottoman capital. Thanks to this book, our significant photographic archives became better known to the broader public. A large part of this book has been prepared by the deep knowledge of Renate Schiele, who very sadly passed away recently.
