Second NOS-HS Workshop on \u201cEarthen architecture design and construction sustainability practice\u201d hold in Lund, Sweden, 20th and 21st June 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the framework of the NENA Initiative and the Research cooperation on earthen architecture \u201cEarthen Architecture in Nordic research: Historic knowledge, Social Impact and Sustainability\u201d (https:\/\/researchportal.helsinki.fi\/en\/projects\/earthen-architecture-in-nordic-research-historic-knowledge-social<\/a>) funded by the Nordic Research Council the second NOS-HS workshop on \u201cEarthen Architecture Design and Construction Sustainability Practice\u201d took place at KULTUREN in Lund, Sweden on June 20th<\/sup> and 21st<\/sup>, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was organised in cooperation with University of Malm\u00f6 \u2013 Sweden, the University of Hol\u00e1r \u2013 Iceland, University of Helsinki \u2013 Finland, and German Archaeological Institute – Istanbul. Fourteen international experts for earthen architecture and conservation met to exchange their ideas and experiences with (ancient and contemporary) earthen construction, sustainable and climate-friendly building, as well as challenges with the conservation of earthen architecture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The talks and discussion at Lund\u2019s open air museum KULTUREN (https:\/\/www.kulturen.com\/welcome-kulturens-museums\/<\/a>) were accompanied by a hands-on workshop for earthen construction techniques and testing of different earthen materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
