After 23 years of construction, the complex was finally completed in 1969 according to the plans of the architect Dr. Hayati Tabanl\u0131o\u011flu. The main hall has 1,307 seats for performances by the Turkish State Theatre and the State Opera Ballet. There is also a &#8220;concert hall&#8221; with 502 seats, as well as an exhibition hall covering 1,200 m\u00b2, and other cultural facilities. Discussions about a new AKM building began in 2005, and it was finally opened to the public in 2021.
