Le bassin du Congo, o\u00f9 se trouvent les plus grandes tourbi\u00e8res tropicales du monde, abrite dans la Cuvette Centrale environ 30 milliards de tonnes de carbone. Les premi\u00e8res \u00e9tudes ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts de tourbe vari\u00e9s dans des environnements g\u00e9omorphologiques et hydrologiques diff\u00e9rents, avec de vastes d\u00f4mes de tourbe dans des bassins interfluviaux et des zones de tourbe proches des rivi\u00e8res qui suivent des r\u00e9seaux hydrographiques. Nous pr\u00e9sentons ici une analyse compl\u00e8te d&#8217;un noyau de tourbe provenant d&#8217;une zone tourbeuse situ\u00e9e \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 imm\u00e9diate de la rivi\u00e8re Momboyo dans la Cuvette Centrale.
