Katharina Brandt holds a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Heidelberg. Since 2002 she has been employed in the library and the photographic archive of the German Archaeological Institute Athens, where she came into daily contact with the old photographic material. This resulted in a keen interest in the department’s history.
