Call for Contributions: Exploring Human–Environment Interactions in Anatolia

A new interdisciplinary volume is inviting contributions that rethink how past societies interacted with their environments across Anatolia. Bringing together perspectives from archaeology, environmental history, and the geosciences, this upcoming publication adopts a socio-ecological approach to better understand long-term dynamics between humans and their surroundings.

Building on discussions from an international research network (2023–2025), the volume moves beyond simplistic narratives of environmental “collapse.” Instead, it highlights themes such as resilience, adaptation, and the complex feedback systems that shape human–environment relationships over time. Contributors are encouraged to engage with integrated datasets and multi-scalar approaches, from local landscapes to broader regional systems.

The editors welcome a wide range of submissions, including case studies, comparative analyses, and methodological reflections. Topics span everything from agricultural systems and urban–rural interactions to climate-related disasters, environmental perception, and policy-relevant insights.
