Current Research on Cultural Heritage and Climate Change Worldwide

This year’s GroundCheck online-conference on November 25 2021 will present the latest work from various GroundCheck research projects on cultural heritage, climate change and its regional impact on human-environment interactions.

GroundCheck is one of nine research clusters of the German Archaeological Institute Berlin, currently comprising 29 projects with an interdisciplinary nature strengthening the collaboration with institutions worldwide. GroundCheck aims to protect cultural heritage and provide useful environmental knowledge from the past to understand human-environment interactions.

Five speakers will present overviews of the GroundCheck research and current research from the Arctic, Germany, Catalonia, Spain, and the Andean Highlands. After each presentation, time for questions and discussions will be available. Anyone interested in issues of cultural heritage and climate change in the past, present, and future is invited to attend this event.
