Die Entangled Africa-Projekte arbeiten sowohl in relativ gut erforschten, als auch in nahezu unbekannten Regionen südlich der Sahara. Hand in Hand versuchen Geistes- und Naturwissenschaften das vielschichtige Geflecht weitreichender Beziehungen und Interaktionen der afrikanischen Vergangenheit zu entschlüsseln.
Das Projekt „Connecting Foodways“ untersucht die Verbreitung von Ernährungsgewohnheiten und Kochutensilien vom Mittleren Niltal bis ans Horn von Afrika.

Connecting Foodways 2020
The Entangled Africa projects research in both relatively well known and almost unfamiliar regions south of the Sahara. Hand in hand, the humanities and natural sciences try to decipher the complex web of far-reaching relationships and interactions of Africa’s past.
The „Connecting Foodways“ project investigates the spread of foods and cooking utensils from the Middle Nile Valley to the Horn of Africa.
